Four Directions Consulting logo

Before starting "Four Directions Consutling"  I went to the mountains and fasted for four days and ask Creator & my ancestors permission to do the work that I do today, I asked from those unseen forces if I was worthy enough to take on such a task, I prayed for wisdom, guidance and knowledge to carry out my dream/vision and now I have been given their blessing and now I have made my promise and commitment to help do his work here on "Mother Earth" and these one's have told me "You do your work in a good way & all will be well"

So my logo is about the teachings by true, (not wannabe) elders gave me, the ones I have been blessed to meet while on my early part of my healing journey , while I was on that mountain I prayed that many teachers would come in my path to help me on my journey and sure enough four days after I came off  that mountain I met an elder who had taught me the Sioux way and other true elders who came into my path and taught me the cree way as well, I must mention that I do not go just go to the mountains to fast every year, I go there often to seek guidance & direction when I need help, I'm not arrogant enough to think I can do it on my own, one never can when you follow this way of life.

I will explain each component of my logo, and for each feature I have prayed for and asked Creator & our ancestors that it be okay use in my logo, some of these features also come from the medicine wheel teachings, the four directions & all its teachings, which have significance to all different cultures in the four directions on Mother Earth.

Before I begin describing my logo, I will not say this is the right way or only way of these sacred teachings, there are many medicine wheel teachings out there in the four directions of First Nation people and also many other cultures and societies on Mother Earth use different ways, as well as different colours in their directions, different spirit helpers (sacred animals) different sacred plants, there many different teachings out there, so please have an open mind with this, this is not written in stone, besides First Nations teachings were never written, they have been handed down orally from our ancestors from generation to generation.

Each colour will represent what has been taught to me

  • RED - Direction: East, Animal Spirit: Sacred Buffalo pray to this one for wisdom & knowledge - Four aspect of man: child, Seasons: spring, Four elements of the physical world: Mother Earth, Races of man: The Red Man (First Nations People) Our human nature: Spiritual
  • YELLOW - Direction: South, Animal Spirit: Eagle, this one you pray to for healing & this one flies closest to the Creator and take your prayers to him, Four aspects of man: youth, Season: summer, Element: air, Race: asian, Human nature: emotional
  • BLUE - Direction: West, Animal Spirit: Thunderbird / Thunderbeings, pray for new beginnings and also the giver of life comes from this direction, water, so when you hear thunder it's the thunderbeings awaken thus causing it to rain, this is also the spirit world where our ancesters are, but there's more to this teaching than this. Four aspects of man: adult, Season: fall, Element: water, Race: black man/african american, Human nature: physical
  • WHITE - Direction: North, Animal Spirit: Bear, this one you pray to for strength & courage, I pray for mental, emotional, physial & spiritual strength, be specific & carefuyl for what you pray for, he answer's all prayers, in his own time and way, you have to earn your prayers, Four aspects of man: Elder, Season: winter, Element: fire, Race: whiteman, Human nature: mental.
  • Four Sacred Plants: tobacco, sweetgrass, sage, ceder.
  • The two sacred pipes I have here on my logo are red and green, the green sacred pipe is the first sacred I have been given the right to carry, the red sacred pipe represents respect for all who carry this sacred pipe in the four directions.
  • The two Sacred Eagle Feathers represent the eagle feathers I carry and have earned along my journey of life for the healing journey I'm on and the one's who come to me for healing.

This is what my logo means to me, with these teachings and there are many more I have attained in my journey, I pray for the gifts and blessing I've been given to help our people, and to never work in a bad way,  as some like to do out there, these sacred ways are always respected and must always come first.

Where ever I go I smudge and prayer first, I smudge before I begin a workshop, before, during & after or if giving the opportunity I have a pipe ceremony to pray for wisdom, guidance & direction so that all goes well.

Please have an open mind about what I have written here, it is with respect to those who have requested what my logo means to me, not everyone follows this way, and I never tell anyone this is the only way, it isn't!

I respect all those who follow the ways of their beliefs and teachings.

I do what works for me and it must be okay with Creator, because I'm still here with his blessing, guidance & direction.

One more thing I must mention, I never accept money to do a sacred ceremony, all I request is tobacco and print if avaliable, that is the proper protocal, however food and lodging is acceptable and gas if one has to travel for one requesting help, I never accept money because he already gives me what I need each day. I have a hard time with those who request money to perform sacred ceremonies, these sacred gifts and blessings one is given should not be for sale nor abused for greed or personal gain,

This is what my logo means to me.
